Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 4:22PM A while back I got a couple chances to DJ in the back of the ITVNW van. It was a really cool experience. However, I figured out that spinning on CDJ's lacks so much tactile feeling and since I learned playing on vinyl I found that I totally suck at playing on CDJ's. It's just missing something for me. I'm figuring it out a bit more, but I'll take vinyl/Serato over CD's any day.
Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 7:56AM I tried out UStream a while back to see what it was like doing video and audio. Normally most DJ's broadcast live and you have a little chat room going while they watch. It's a pretty cool experience for a community of music lovers. I didn't broadcast live in this case, but I did record for playback later. The video quality seems good (though I was mostly mixing in the dark). You don't see a lot of me either, so the video isn't exactly captivating. The mix itself is pretty much all dubstep. The deeper flavor that I'm digging so much these days. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 8:13AM Mix 1.03 from me is all dubstep this time. I kick things off with that deep and submerged sound that Hotflush Recordings does so well. I included a track from Skream titled 'Minimalistix' that completely struck a chord with me the first time I ever heard it. His production values are always top notch and this track shows what he can do with just a few well places synths. The mix closes out with me bring in more of the massive bass and wobble that some of these producers like Kode 9 and Starkey create so well.
Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 8:10AM This is my second mix that I put together for Mixcloud. It starts out with the deep dubstep vibe that I love so much. Then we transition from dubstep (via a little splash of Flying Lotus) to some techno. I usually keep things minimal and throw in as much of a soulful groove as I can muster with my tracks. Enjoy!

It's mostly deep and minimal techno, however I throw in a little Latin flair at the end to mix things up. The mix is entirely unplanned and straight off the cuff.
